Homes in Lancaster often have lead dust and paint which can be dangerous, especially for children. Our research project explores how long homes stay safe after lead remediation, a process that reduces lead in a home. We plan to:

• Conduct lead testing in previously remediated homes to see how long lead remediation is effective

• Give cognitive tests to children in both remediated and non-remediated homes to identify the effects of lead remediation on child growth

We hope that this study will provide evidence to protect the health of all Lancaster residents.
